Middle School Programs
Education is our children’s best chance to increased prosperity in the United States. Information published by the U.S. Census Bureau demonstrates that a higher level of education translates directly into higher wages. Education is the great driver of mobility!
Studies show that America’s children compare very favorably with students in international test scores in math and science through the fourth grade. However, there is a dramatic fall off after those early years and it continues through high school.
NACME’s middle school program is a great way to introduce middle school students to the world of engineering which has at its core the fundamentals of math and science disciplines. By bringing into the classroom a variety of speakers that include professionals from local businesses and college students who aspire to be engineers, your children will learn more about how their world today is influenced by engineering and technology - from sports equipment design to I-Pods, to video games, the clothes they wear and the bridges and tunnels they travel.
NACME has introduced programs for the classroom to support teachers and guidance counselors in answering the many questions of our children and parents about the importance of a persistent course of study in math and science. Our partners, The ACE Mentor Program and MESA are in hundreds of schools and work with thousands of students using dedicated professionals that are passionate about the work they do in their daily lives. The NACME STEM Innovation Grants is now also open for submissions from middle school (6-8) teachers and educators.
