NACME PROGRAMS

NACME takes pride in our abundance of programs designed to help underrepresented minority members through their career development, from middle school to employment.

The centerpiece of our efforts is the NACME Scholars Program. We distribute more than $4 million annually through block grants to partner universities and as individual awards.  Since our founding, NACME has given more than $114 million in scholarship and program support to 22,000 students, thus increasing the flow of talent entering the science, technology, engineering, and math professions.

Among NACME’s latest efforts is the creation of a network of Academy of Engineering with partner organizations Project Lead The Way and the National Academy Foundation. These high-school academies will seek to ensure that urban students are thoroughly prepared to study engineering in college.

other efforts include national symposia and galas, mentoring for middle school students, and publications such as the NACME Guide to Engineering Colleges.
